Eco LEAF Project

Pupils from P1 and P7 went on adventure to the woods. They visited the Craigends Yew which is 500-700 years old. The pupils had great fun exploring the wonderful variety of nature to be found in Houston.

Coronation Orchard

When the new ELCC was built, our established orchard was removed by the builders. We were keen to have our school orchard back. Gemma’s mum contacted Mrs McPherson with a plan and very kindly donated £50 towards the purchase of our eight new fruit trees; four apple trees, two Victoria plum trees and two Conference pear trees.

To commemorate King Charle’s Coronation, five pupils called Charlie and three of their friends helped to plant the fruit trees in our school grounds in the shape of the letter ‘C’.
The orchard will be officially opened on Friday 5th May.

Mr Rough’s Helpers

Pupils in P5 were out helping the janitor to level the ground and make it safer to play on. Great job everyone!

LEAF Project

P7 Eco Reps visited P1 today to observe and measure any changes in growth from our crocuses, raised beds and growing tower. They also photographed some of the beautiful growth along the way.
