This week in Primary 1, they read the story The Worst Christmas
Weather Ever! by Sean Batty. It is an inspiring story about climate change,
told through Santa's eyes! At the end of the story, the children are asked to
help join Santa in his fight to help the planet get better by becoming 'Ho, Ho,
Heroes'.
They discussed how they can do this by recycling paper and plastic at home, taking old toys to the charity shop or passing them on to younger children, planting seeds and trees, feeding the birds and creating bug hotels or bee baths in the garden.
Sean is encouraging children to share their merry eco-acts of kindness on X using the hashtag #hohohero in the hope it will make the season a little brighter for the planet.
