Gardening Poem - Yushu Huang

Cabbages hug the bed,

Apples hang from a thread, ready to thump your head!

Lettuce fears slugs,

The sweetcorn shrugs.

Beans climb the wall,

Sweet Peas grow extremely tall!

The polytunnel turns the tomatoes red,

Why do chilis need to be fed?

Indeed, sprouts to sprout!

Underground, potatoes wander about.

The shovel helps the dirt,

And then the dirt decides to dirty my shirt.

Onions give that scent,

Even when covered in cement.

How do I know if It’s a cucumber or a courgette?

That’s something that I’ve never gotten correct.

Plums are plump and yummy,

They are loved by my tummy!
