The Gardening Club members had a busy day yesterday and this morning.
They chopped apples and boiled them up with the rowan
berries.
While they boiled, the pupils went outside and picked
sweet peas, tomatoes and lettuce.
When the jelly was nearly ready the pupils built a castle
of books and strained the "mush" to get the juice.
This morning the pupils measured the juice and added
sugar and lemon juice and boiled the mixture again till it set on a saucer.
While it boiled they decorated jar covers.
Delicious apple and rowan jelly - good on bread or
scones. But also good with meat and on a cheese sandwich.
