Ben the Builder!

Primary 7 pupil, Ben Stewart has always been a keen builder and has continued to develop his skills over the years. His latest project is making squirrel boxes from wooden pallets. Mrs McPherson placed an order and Ben got to work during his October holiday.

Outdoor Learning P3

Primary 3 pupils have been learning about woodlands this term. Mrs Thomson and Miss McCafferty taught their pupils how to use a flint and steel to create a spark to start off their campfire. It was a ‘cosy’ afternoon outdoors.

Sunflower Competition

During lockdown, pupils from our school gardening club planted sunflowers in their own gardens. They cared for them during the summer months, to see who could grow the tallest sunflower. Mac from Primary 6 is absolutely delighted to be the winner. His sunflower reached a whopping 2.1m!

Spring bulbs

Our spring bulbs have really been enjoying the warmer weather recently. It is a shame we are not at school to see how beautiful and colourful they are. They really brighten up our playground.

Battery Recycling

The Big Battery Hunt is on! We've almost filled our second battery bin so please keep bringing in your used batteries (AA, AAA, C and D) so we can make sure they are disposed of safely.
Clear Out Your Closet

We're looking for donations of clothes in wearable condition, pairs of shoes, handbags and belts for our next Rag bag collection. All funds raised go towards supporting Eco projects.

Next collection date 13.03.20.

Let’s Get Cooking!

The Gardening Club learned how to make leek and potato soup using their very own fresh produce. With the help of Mrs Morrison and her team of volunteers, the pupils prepared the vegetables and added them to the pot. There was enough for a tub each to take home and enjoy. They also cooked Brussels sprouts with bacon. Delicious!

Crisp Packet Blanket

Former pupil, Caitlin Fraser contacted Mrs McPherson to share her idea of making blankets from foil crisp packets to keep homeless people warm on cold winter nights. Our pupils happily collected two large bin bags full of empty crisp packets and Caitlin quickly got to work. What a superb recycling idea!
