This session, Mrs McPherson has been taking all pupils from Primary 4-7 outdoors to
explore their local environment and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of learning outdoors brings.
Since September no matter what the weather, the pupils have engaged in a variety of learning opportunities e.g. den building, creating a variety of imaginative play areas, whittling, sawing, creating sparks using a flint and steel, lighting mini fires, cooking s’mores over an open fire, map making , creating Christmas decorations using natural materials, whilst having lots and lots of fun with their peers! Next term they will engage in transient art,
drawing with our own Houston charcoal, drawing with our whittled ‘pencil’
sticks, create clay tree art and have a fun outdoor picnic to finish the session.
