Mrs McPherson delivered the old wooden Nursery shelves to the Men’s Shed to be upcycled.
They are going to sand them down and then varnish them. We look forward to
having them back, looking as good as new. Thank you to all the wonderful
volunteers at the Men’s Shed for agreeing to do this for us.
S6 pupils, Zara and Olivia came down today to support our youngest Eco Representatives carry out a litter pick and survey.
They found:
Crisp packets - 6
Juice Carton - 1
Wrappers - 62
Fruit - 6
They also
identified the P5 planter area as having the most litter.
This week it is Primary 2’s turn to litter pick and help keep our school grounds tidy. Great job Primary 2!

The Gardening Club members, proudly show off their Grow Your Own Potatoes, West of Scotland certificate. Well done everyone!
7th Green Flag Awarded to Houston Primary School & ELCC
This a wonderful achievement and demonstrates our commitment to the
environment. A huge thank you to all of our pupils, staff and of course our
wonderful volunteers who support our Gardening Club.
The pupils in Primary 6 are taking part in a science experiment in partnership with the Glasgow Science Centre. An amazing growing aeropod was delivered and our pupils got planting. They are making comparisons on how different colours of light impact on growth.
Every pupil in Houston Primary has planted a sunflower to seed to raise awareness of the importance of our mental health and well-being. We hope that they make you smile when you walk by the school grounds during the summer months.
